Terminalia catappa, commonly known as the Tropical Almond Tree, is an attractive outdoor tree with large, glossy leaves and naturally layered horizontal branches. Its broad canopy creates a bold tropical appearance and provides welcome shade in gardens, farms, courtyards, and landscape projects.

With its strong upright growth and distinctive shape, this tree makes an impressive feature when planted directly in the ground. It is well suited to Kuwait’s warm climate when provided with full sunlight, good drainage, and regular watering during establishment.

Care Guide

Keep this tree outdoors in full sun with plenty of space to grow. Plant it in fertile, well-draining soil and avoid areas where water collects. Water deeply whenever the upper few centimetres of soil become dry. Young trees may need more frequent watering during Kuwait’s hottest months, while established trees can tolerate short dry periods.

Apply mulch around the root zone to help retain moisture, keeping it away from the trunk. Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser during the growing season to support healthy growth. Prune dead, damaged, or unwanted branches as needed to maintain a strong shape and open canopy.
