The Microsorum Thailandicum, commonly known as the Blue Iguandon Fern or Sky Blue Fern, is a rare and exotic fern native to Thailand. It is prized for its unusual, deeply ridged and wavy fronds that shimmer with a distinctive blue-green iridescence under the right light — a truly mesmerising effect that sets it apart from any other fern. A rare find and a conversation piece for any serious plant collector.
Care Guide
Place in a spot with low to medium indirect light — this fern thrives away from direct sun, which can fade its signature iridescence. Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged; water when the top layer of soil begins to dry. Humidity is key — place on a pebble tray with water or near a humidifier to maintain the warm, humid conditions it loves. Use a well-draining, peat-based or aroid mix. Feed with a diluted balanced fertiliser once a month during spring and summer, and reduce feeding in winter. Avoid cold draughts and air conditioning vents.
Disclaimer
Please note that each plant is unique — the actual plant may vary slightly from the photos shown. The blue iridescence is a light-dependent effect and may appear more or less prominent depending on viewing conditions.
