Orange Fruit Tree - Citrus Orange - شجرة البرتقال

The sweet orange tree is an evergreen fruit tree with glossy green leaves, fragrant white flowers, and colourful fruit. A lovely addition to a sunny garden or spacious patio, it can grow in the ground or a large container with good drainage. Flowering and fruit production depend on the tree’s maturity, variety, and growing conditions.

Care Guide

Grow outdoors in a sunny position, gradually introducing the tree to direct sunlight. In Kuwait, protect young and container-grown trees from intense afternoon sun and hot, drying winds during peak summer. Water deeply when the upper few centimetres of soil begin to dry, checking frequently during hot weather without leaving the roots waterlogged. Use well-draining soil and feed with a citrus fertiliser containing micronutrients according to the label, avoiding fertilising during extreme heat or when the tree is stressed. Prune lightly to remove dead or crossing branches, and check regularly for scale insects, leaf miners, and spider mites.
