Ficus Rubiginosa

A tropical, evergreen tree with large, shiny dark green leaves that are rusty brown and hairy underneath. When mature it can spread very broadly, producing areal roots and a huge, buttressed trunk.

Soil: Prefers well drained soils rich in organic matter.

A standard potting mix is fine if growing in pots.

Maintenance: Mulch well with composted materials, keep up the water in summer and feed twice a year with blood and bone or other slow release fertilisers.
