Parlor palms are a great place to start for beginners. They do especially well in a northern exposure window or foyer, where they show off their fine-textured leaves. Because they are tolerant of lower light conditions and sensitive to too much water, they are prime candidates to be “loved to death,” either through overwatering or by getting too much direct sunlight – so resist the temptation! Light
Chamaedorea elegans is shade tolerant, however brighter locations with plenty of indirect sunlight will help the Parlour Palm thrive and even encourage flowering.

Watering
Water your Parlour Palm once the soil begins to dry-out. Do not overwater and ensure the plant has proper drainage to prevent root rot developing.

Feed
Feed with a weak solution every few weeks during the growing season. Do not feed during the winter.
